2017 ll expo orargent

 
 Des rivières de la Californie aux sommets enneigés du Yukon, cette exposition raconte, à travers des images fascinantes et en grande partie inédites, les espoirs, les rêves et les illusions de toute une génération de chercheurs d’or. Elle explore aussi deux avancées importantes de l’histoire de la photographie : l’image unique sur métal et les images multiples sur verre, puis sur papier.
Or et argent est organisée par l’Institut canadien de la photographie en partenariat avec Bibliothèque et Archives Canada. Cette exposition a été rendue possible grâce à la donation de la collection « Origines de la photographie » du fonds Archive of Modern Conflict.		    Through captivating and largely unedited images ranging from scenes of California’s rivers to the snow-capped peaks of Yukon, this exhibition follows the hopes, dreams and illusions of an entire generation of prospectors who took to the road in search of gold. It also tells the story of two major developments in the history of photography: single images on metal and multiple images on glass and paper.Gold and Silver is organized by the Canadian Photography Institute in partnership with Library and Archives Canada. This exhibition was made possible thanks to the gift of "The Origins of Photography" from the Archive of Modern Conflict.
